Dallas “Ray” Cox was a very essential part of the Carroll County Agricultural Fair.  Ray always attended the Fair before, during, and after to help in any way along with his wife Pat, daughter Sheila, granddaughters; Makayla and Katlyn.  Ray was often found on the Wholesale dock talking with Fair visitors. His musical talent was tremendous and enjoyed by all, he always played his instruments during Ag Education Days at the Fair.  Ray also played with his family in a  music group called the  “Cox Brothers”.  In 2013 right after the County Fair,  his health declined rapidly and he passed away on August 30th.  In 2014, the Fair committee voted to honor Ray with an annual memorial award so each year after the fair, the Committee votes for this  fair award, in honor of Ray Cox, called the “Ray Cox” Memorial Award.
